Not sure if I ever posted these so here they are. A 1933 Ford Token and a 1939 Golden Gate/Union Pacific Token.
I once metal detected the same Ford medallion.. You saw my thread once https://www.cointalk.com/threads/metal-detecting-2-us-silver-ford-30-years-medallion.385506/
The Ford tokens above are attributed as an HK-465 So-Called Dollars from the 1933 Century of Progress World's Fair in Chicago. The Ford token below was produced the following year in 1934. It is attributed as an HK-466.
Groovy. I wonder if @dwhiz has one of those medals with the Union Pacific choo-choos on 'em. I like the one with the flying boat that @alurid just posted above.
I have one of each in my collection. It sounds weird but every time I see the V8 side of the Ford token I think of V8 juice. Go figure! Bruce
V8 juice is some good stuff. I couldn’t care less about regular tomato juice, but I’ve loved V8 since I was a kid. I used to love V8 engines, too, before gas prices went up.
There are two of this type of lucky piece from Alcoa. One has a date, and one without a date. I think it is interest that my dated piece shows strike weakness in the same areas as the one @dwiz posted.
