    Yes, that came from Triton XVIII Adams Collection. Eastern Chaluykas AV Gadyanas rock!

    As noted in @johnmilton post above, Edward III was the first English monarch to introduce gold coinage on a sustainable issue. This coin was minted ca. 1364-1365 in the post treaty era with France when Edward III temporarily gave up claim to France - thus France is not mentioned on the obverse. This particular coin was purchased maybe 15 or so years ago after a long search for a full flan and unclipped example. The noble denomination was 6 shillings and 8 pence - or 80 pence.
