Hi Everyone, It's been a dream of mine to go to Berlin and attend the World Money Fair. I'm going to try & make it happen for 2018. I wanted to ask if anyone here, from the States, has gone? How far in advanced did you book your travel/hotel. What would you do different now that you have gone? Is the Estrel hotel the best place to stay at since the Fair is held at the Estrel Convention Center? Any general tips? I appreciate any information that you all can provide. Thanks!!!
I believe he lives in Europe. I was trying to get advice from American travelers. Learn from their experiences!! [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Actually he lives in Germany and I think he has been to one of these shows. Learn from anyone's experience.
Yep, been there, done that, got PM, replied. And I will try and make it to next year's WMF as well. But it does of course make sense to learn from Americans who attended the show, as the "perspective" (with regard to what can be had, what to expect in terms of prices, etc.) may well be different. In case anybody wonders about next year - for some reason the WMF website still "looks back" at 2016, and is still "looking forward" to the 2017 show which ended a few weeks ago ... But yes, there will be one in 2018. Starts on Friday 2/2 (easy to keep in mind because that works in both the European and American date format ) and ends on Sunday. Christian
Hardly. Farmers here used to have all kinds of weather rules, often rhymed, and a few are related to badgers "seeing the sun" on that day, which would result in a couple more cold weeks. But those rules tend to get forgotten, and without the movie with Bill Murray, not too many people would know about that day ... Now I would love the World Money Fair to be later in the year, when it's not freezing cold in Eastern Germany. But of course the mints want to present their annual programs early, so we will have to live with that early February (sometimes end January) weekend date. Christian
