1955 double?

    It's just "die deterioration doubling" on the last 5. Not a doubled die at all.

    Nope. Not a Doubled die variety.

    That's Die Deterioration doubling which puts it in the worthless doubling category.

    FYI - the correct Numismatic terminology is actually doubled die, not double die. Big difference

    If you flip the coin over all the 1955 DDs have a slightly rotated reverse.
    I don't think anyone is pulling this coin out of circulation any more.

    #1 Best example of a doubled die in my opinion.

    Remember when they mentioned that coin in the Weird Al Yancovich movie, UHF? It's at the end.
