Russia (Soviet Union): 1924- ПЛ silver rouble, Leningrad mint

    PCGS MS62. Cert. #84747425.

    Numista-7401, Krause-Mishler (Yeoman)-90.1.

    .900 silver, .5786 oz. Diameter: 33.5 mm. Weight: 20 g. Mintage: 12,998,000.

"Workers of the world, unite!" declares the obverse of this coin, which portrays an idealistic optimism at a time when the Soviet Union was still young. The side with the two workers is technically the reverse, despite the arrangement in the slab and these images.

    Ex-eBay.

Russia had little idea what the revolution was bringing them...

Very nice, especially for a 62 grade (which can be a "dog" at times but certainly not here).

I have owned one of these in the past but no longer do. Interestingly enough, prices have increased more than I expected over the last year or two.

That’s my favorite early Soviet design, and yours looks way better than its assigned grade.

Thanks. Yeah, if this was someone else's coin, and posted in a blind "guess the grade" thread, I'd have guessed 64.
