For this round, I'll nominate @Shrews1994 as she was the third person to nominate me in this contest. There's always having a chance at the luck that @ksmooter61 did in the last round.
Well, folks, it's December 24th now (at least here in the Eastern US). Happy Christmas Eve! It is time to have the Round 7 drawing and see who won that lovely Bust half from @Eric the Red, which will wrap up his three rounds in this contest. Stand by...
For the Round 7 drawing, our lucky number was 221. And Post #221 was by... @Evan Saltis! COINgratulations, @Evan Saltis! @Eric the Red will need your shipping address. I shall message you both shortly. As usual: @Eric the Red - please post a shipping confirmation in this thread after you have shipped the coin, and thanks again for your extreme generosity. @Evan Saltis - please be sure to post a winner's receipt in this thread later, after you have received the coin, so we'll all know you got it. I really like this coin, and hope you will as well. I am fairly confident you will.
Stand by for Round 8! @masterswimmer is on deck now! Woot! We've got a fun little twist for Round 8. Stay tuned. I have to wrap up the Round 7 private messaging, and then I'll get Round 8 posted.
Here we are, folks. Round 8! This is the... Mystery Round! @masterswimmer gave to thee... A "Mystery Prize" lot, the contents of which will be revealed only after the drawing! I can assure you it will be a fun one. To enter this round, all you need to do is: 1. Say that you want this lot, and 2. post something else coin-related or cheerful. Then, sometime in the next 2-4 days (depending on my schedule), we'll do the drawing and move on to the next round. You may of course say you want it for someone else, if you name that person. Round summary in Post #1.
I'm #250 for the win. Like others, even if I don't win in a contest here, I'm still a CoinTalk winner! Wait! It's not "mystery meat", is it? I like others, pray for Peace.
This time, I'll enter as lucky #251, as I love mystery lots especially when they're free. Here's my good-luck charm for this round: a maundy 1934 3 pence graded PL62 that I got on GreatCollections. This coin was $35, and I seriously thought I was bound to get outbid, especially since I was in bed by the auction's end. Luckily, I won, making this the end of the search for a maundy coin but technically just the beginning if I find cheap ones.
I would like to wish @MeowtheKitty a Merry Christmas. I once again enter for you to win this prize and hope Santa and luck send it your way. 2 weeks ago our stove died; this is the new one. We have 3 cats. One is a rather large ginger cat. One is a smaller grey kitten and the third is a dark blue kitten. A friend who visited us saw this cat hanging cloth and gave it to us since it reminded her so much of our 3 friends. The resemblance to the real cats is remarkable. James MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL
Yes Maundy @The Half Dime . I started out Presbyterian in life. To this day i know all i have to do is call Thursday "Maundy Thursday" around Easter time and my wife will automatically roll her eyes. James Great coin. I once saw a collection of Maundy coins that went all the way back to the Tudor times.
Alright, alright, alright, being it's Christmas Eve, I wish you all good luck for the mystery round. I love mysteries. Here is a neat one.
Please count me in on this round! I'm always down for a mystery lot. Happy holidays to all, and health and happiness in the New Year!
