Yeah, I'm kinda used to my "finds" to turn out to be pmd.
But I am still learning. And everyone's input and comments help me along the way. I appreciate them all.

Yes you are learning as I can tell the difference in your posts. The obverse looks like an error. The edge is questionable. But the reverse shows its damage. You can learn a lot from the coin and the comments others have posted. :)

Dirty Harry used rounds if I'm not mistaken, not clip. :wacky:

You are correct! In all the excitement I forgot how many shots I fired. Was it 5 or was it 6? We’ll do you feel lucky punk? lol

(Top and middle pic) In the Red box you can see the edge being squashed and expanding, wider than the reeding not damage. And we know the 3 dies are not flexible as they are harder than the material.
Of course, to get reeding it has to be pressed against the collar (the 3rd die from the obverse to reverse die). The die, being much harder than the metal, isn't going to flex nor change shape.
(lower pic) one can see the edge is pushed in. The "AMERICA" is squished/compressed down and the surface isn't flat as it is bent and actually bulges on the other side.

This is easy to do. use various hardnesses to flatten that edge, which is going to bulge it. Easy damage. Of course, if you want to damage it "exactly" as you see it will take a long time and probably be various blows to construct the same damage as one cannot provide what "exactly happened to this dime".

If I get a chance (probably not) I can recreate the effects here on a dime.

How about this: the rim at America is not squished/compressed it was all the rim that could be gotten from the die. That the blank was straight clipped and did not received any rim from the upset mill and that area still managed to get struck which imparted a shallow rim and pristine reeding of which I still do not see any buldging at the edge of America.

But I do see what appears to be Blakesley at the UN of United. (last photo) Where did that come from if it's a hammer job?

    Where else? Vise City.
Or, or maybe the North Pole.

    Un-huh...

It'll have to be the North Pole then or Maxwell's Silver Hammer with extra Mojo, cause I ain't buying the pmd narrative.

Merry Christmas Sal. Here's some more Lennon:
