    NGC MS61. Cert. #4033133-005.

    Numista-4323, Krause-Mishler 142.1.

    .900 silver, .7234 oz. Diameter: 37 mm. Weight: 25 g. Mintage: 693,000.

Ex-Michael Swoveland, dba WNC Coins, LLC.

I personally think this coin is undergraded by a point or two. It looks MS63 to me. NGC slabbed it with the condor side forward, so that is how it is arranged in these images. The side with the coat of arms is more properly the obverse.

Wow! Common enough coin but I never see them in better than deplorable condition. I see the later dates nice once in a while.

If it is an MS coin I like it better than 61.
61 usually has chatter which this doesn't have. 63 easy.
    Nice coin.

Unfortunately these pics are rather deplorable because I was the one to shoot them. Do you suppose it’s worth a crackout and resubmission attempt? Usually I don’t play that game, but if I did, I could have NGC shoot higher quality Photovision images outside of the slab, so even if it came back the same grade, that would be a step up.

Thanks, Sam. I consider your approval as high praise.

I just got this coin reimaged by @messydesk at the 2026 FUN show.

His pictures look a lot better than mine did.

(Oops, the obverse and reverse images got swapped around in the new photos, but that matches the way NGC slabbed the coin. They put the condor- the reverse- forward.)

I agree. Looks 63 to me, too. I thought about cracking it out and resubmitting it at the FUN show, but that wasn't cost-effective. Even in 63 this is only a $150 coin according to Krause/NGC, and I'm already underwater because I paid $175 for it. And now I've got $185 in it after the new photos. It wasn't worth reslabbing, but I do think it was worth the ten additional bucks for new photos. And I'm also comfortable being into it for a little more than catalog price.

I can't comment on the grade other than to say I like your coin, and it is probably deserving of a higher grade.

The really interesting thing about these Condor pesos is the motto on the obverse. It can loosely be translated as "My way, or, the Highway (or worse)"
