2025 Uncirculated Set

I just picked my head up to buy this from the mint and saw it out of stock. Went to ebay and saw them going for $130 each? what? just because penny is being discontinued? Do these morons not realized billions are being minted? What the heck?

I'm glad I quit the hard stuff 4 years ago.

 

I saw the same thing and got a good laugh out of it.

 

All hype, and indeed selling. Foolish because the figures are near identical to the 2023 and 2024 which are also still available. When, and not if, the market drops to the comparable previous years figures they'll realize their mistake. However, I do see them carrying a slight premium being the final year (the forth coming 2026 not withstanding).

 

Yes, it's entirely because of the penny. You can say it doesn't make sense, and I wouldn't disagree, but 2025 pennies are currently perceived to be valuable, and in the short term, perception is reality.

I don't doubt it's not a good long term investment but right now people are in a hoarding mentality of anything that contains 2025 pennies. Same thing is happening to 2025 proof sets.

 

I'm glad I purchased my 2026-S Lincoln early this year, before all the hype.

 

They can hype all they want but it won’t make me budge from my I’m not interested position.
