It sold out in less than 5 minutes. I was in the queue but by the time I got out of it they were sold out.

No, I mean how are they making any money reselling at the issue price? Are they getting a deal from the Vaultbox folks (and if so, what's in it for Vaultbox?), or do they have a way to screen the boxes and keep the good ones for themselves?

By emulating the US mint, I meant that they appear to have a special arrangement with APMEX as a dealer, same as how the US mint has a list of privileged dealers. If I remember correctly anyway. VaultBox was sold out when I checked yesterday but APMEX still had them. They must be getting a discount.

Still feels like I lost hundreds on Mega Chase just yesterday. No, it was 22 days ago. Best of luck. I wonder how many people are getting Jamaican half pennys for Christmas?

So.... ended up with 2 count them 2 VB Primes... (one was/is a gift and won't be opened yet) but here's the big reveal in the one I bought...

    contents...
    1884 CC Morgan MS63
    1885 o Morgan MS63
2025 Aus Year of the snake MS70/UC

List Value total of about $700, but I've been after a nice 84CC for a while and those almost always sell 10-20% over list so I'm calling this box a "break even"

That CC, is it one sided? Looks like it has end of roll toning.

Mostly 1 sided.. a bit of color on the reverse edges but not significant... 20251217_202644.jpg 20251217_202723.jpg 20251217_202747(0).jpg 20251217_202747.jpg

And I broke my own rule and opened the other one lol (what can i say, I'm weak)
Let's say... I wasn't "thrilled" by my 1st draw on the 2nd box... but It does go with the 2025 snake from the 1st box..
    hziQw2f4FkeT66hwm5q2og.jpg

Now the 2nd was exciting in several ways, the biggest being it is now my "oldest" proof coin and I think undergraded... or at least missing the "cameo" spec behind the grade which i think it fully deserves :D I regreted only that my 19th cent type set is "no proofs" so I can't use it in that set and to be honest I was seeing red with this whole deal....
    rmW4fZQ6vkK4_uYO0ZLZuQ.jpg

Seeing red perfectly describes the 3rd box as well :D and damn is my type set happy lol
That's right the "same" coin except In MS instead of PR :D :D :D
    S4Eg0o5BHU2LJq_MGkL-WA.jpg

So in the end I have to say I came out well ahead vs money spent and I'm very happy with 4 of the 6 goodies
    That makes for
1 VB "loss" of about 400 (3 boxes series 7)
3 VB break evens (counting the 1st box of this set)
    and
2 VB Wins showing at least $500 value over cost
    oh yeah and
2 VB Ground 0 Aus 1/2 cents (but i actualy got em cause I wanted a G0 coin and hadn't seen any graded at shows or shops for under 100 so should be counted as a break even in the end lol)
so I remain a fan of VB and expect they will get me again next month/year :D

Good for you. I wasn't lucky with my draw in the queue. When it opened I was number 552 so I had a hunch they'd be sold out when my turn came up. I figured that it got to me in about 4 minutes after opening but by then they were sold out. Some people don't like to gamble and I get it. Other than the previous VB run, none of the coins I got were junk and the worst I came out as terms of value to what I paid was around 60%. The best was ~150%. Will I bid again? Likely.
