India ₹5, 1994 – Genuine Curved Clipped Planchet Error.
Smooth factory clip, no post-mint damage, visible strike weakness near clip and Blakesley effect.
Original condition, uncleaned. What is its value?

Unlike striking the edge in collar here in the US, do they roll the design into the edge of the coin in India?

Definitely an incomplete planchet error. It doesn’t look as a curved clip. It looks like a straight clip.

Way high. World errors don't usually go for nearly as much as US errors. I couldn't find any similar sold on Ebay, but current listings have similar clipped planchets in the $5-$10 range.

This link explains how they did it: https://india-coin.blogspot.com/2011/08/what-are-milled-edge-coin-variants.html

Looks like they struck the coin with a normal reeded edge, and then passed it through a roller die which imprints the security edge.

The article also states they stopped in 2009, everything after that just has a reeded edge.
