Just like having to chose what state quoter or which presidential dollar to choose for our sets, which 2026 Semiquincentennial quarter do you think you'll choose?

Great post - after only a short time my first "favorite" is the Washington/Revolutionary War design. But if I was doing a type set, I might go with the Jefferson/Declaration of Independence one, for what it represents.

Tough choice. I like the Revolutionary War and the Declaration of Independence designs. Since the Minuteman design was previous used on the quarter I'd go with the bell design. While the remainder are equally worthy on their own, they don't quite fit the time frame of 1776.

The Mayflower Compact. It takes two to bring us to what we have and enjoy today.

I have to say, I like them all but the Gettysburg Address one is probably my favorite.

Now that'll be a silver proof set on my must have list. The Lincoln bust and Mayflower ship are re-used designs from commemoratives but the rest look fresh. They all look great. Will probably use the revolutionary war quarter for mine type set. Maybe the Constitution as well. The US type including moderns on the NGC registry calls for a silver and a clad so you can pick two.

Those are decent designs for a change. If it were my type set, I would use the Deceleration of Independence quarter.

Our first grandbaby will be born in 2026, so this grandpa will be buying everything dated as such for the little future (hopefully) coin collector! For my type set, I’ll go with the Declaration of Independence.

I like all of them but if I had to pick one, it would be the Mayflower one, because both the obverse and the reverse feel original, where with the other 4 it feels like they just used already existing designs for the obverses because they were chosen at the last minute (but the reverses on all 5 look great).

But they're 5 different types, so a compete type set would need all of them anyway lol... it's always a decision how complete you want a "type set" to be.

I don't think it works that way. Don't need 56 quarters to represent State/Territory/DC quarters, Don't need 40 dollars to represent Presidential Dollars. Same for the America the Beautiful Quarters, American Women Quarters,
2009 Lincoln Anniversary Cents, Native American Dollars or American Innovation Dollars. One of each series is enough.

Don't know about the quarters, though I expect I will have a full set in 69 and one 70 for the type set.. The coin I'm looking forward to is the Dime.. Now that is a gorgeous design! and I will put away rolls and rolls if I can get em :D

Yeah, I'm very very happy they chose this design for the dime. I'm going to collect every damn variation of this and may actually grab some rolls to stash too, plus graded 70s for the type set.

Well that's the thing about collecting; it works whatever way the collector says it does. Collect what you like, don't collect what you don't like.

I will fully admit I'm borderline OCD about collecting and have my own ideas of what "complete" means in a set, and what does and does not count as complete. Some may disagree with my assertions, but at the end of the day it's my collection; I get to decide what satisfies me as "complete." "Complete" is in the eye of the collector.

Revolutionary War To bad they didn't use the "Washington Praying for Peace" on one of the coins. 2022 George Washington Pray for Peace 1a.jpg
