71's They aren't easy to find and rarely come unabraded.

 

Here is a crazy one.

 

1971's are tough coins, I don't care if they made billions. Made me go back and look at mine again. Took me decades of intense searching to find these.

 

This is an amazing example, I don't know where I got it from, probably an OBW.

 

These things are all so softly struck in the portait. The mints were producing billions and it was all about numbers. 99.9% of the billions are garbage.

 

The sure liked to polish those dies! Some nice orange toning on this one.

 

TOUGH coin, for some reason these always look like they went through a meat grinder straight from the mint. I opened many OBW rolls, the 70's are frustrating. This is the best one I found, it has very nice appeal which is rare for the 70s. lol Even the best one I've found has some deep nicks.

 

I did manage a find some nice toners from the 1970's in my gem quest. Sometimes an OBW gives back some encouragement!

 

I have seen some major die abrasions on 71 Lincs.

 

Here is a cent that even after the bit of corrosion (since cleaned) is covered in plating blisters. Still doesn't have any exposed Zinc.
