Were those of you who didn't win disappointed at not getting that BU Merc dime/Walker half combo? Well... good news! For Round 6, there is another such combo, this time dated 1944! @Eric the Red gave to thee... A nice pair of white Brilliant Uncirculated 1944 silver coins: 1944 Mercury dime, Mint State 1944 Walking Liberty half, Mint State To enter this round, all you need to do is: 1. Say that you want this lot, and 2. post something else coin-related or cheerful. Then, sometime in the next 2-4 days (depending on my schedule), we'll do the drawing and move on to the next round. You may of course say you want it for someone else, if you name that person. Round summary in Post #1.
[spoiler alert] No, @Eric the Red will not be offering a third Merc/Walker combo in Round 7. But that prize will be something equally awesome. And that's all I'll say about that for now.
Woohoo! Must be pie power! Thanks both @Eric the Red and LM for facilitating, I'm absolutely made up. This round I'll add my entry on behalf of @No_Ragrets as they were kind enough to nominate me last round. Good luck to all entrants.
I'm in for this round. I like "Walkers" and currently own just 2 of them. Thanks Uncle @Eric the Red for the donations. Much appreciated....
I will join with @ksmooter61 in sending in my entry in hopes that this time @MeowtheKitty gets these wonderful coins. Since Meow is the hopefull winner i will share a Christmas cheer of the furry kind. We have had a garden bench on our patio for more than 30 years. Time (and a massive wind storm) destroyed the Kitty bench this year. Many a cat nap was taken on that bench. This year, Ollie the cat will be getting a new bench (we even saved the old cushion and recovered it so it will smell like his). First picture is of the wrapped bench. second one is of Ollie on his present from last year. James
Thank you @beaver96 I'd like to throw my hat in the ring for these beauties. My little guys would flip to win them. Last night we went to the older ones 4th grade concert. Y'all know how it is. Can't get enough of Hot Cross Buns, Mary Had A Little Lamb and good ol Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. After the concert our 5 y/o little one says Pop Pop come with me I want to show you something. Takes me by the hand, leads me to his room and says look at all the things you gave me. Proof sets, buffalo nickels, commemorative coins, etc. Then says, I take good care of them like you taught me. My heart swelled. He doesn't know it yet, but we bought him a nice heavy Sentry Safe like we bought the older one. He's showing the responsibility necessary for me to relinquish some of my collectibles unto him also. The safe provides the security for their keepsakes.
Love them 44 bright and shiny ones Met my bride 44 years ago Oh yeah, this is about coins My father brought home this steel thing after that little disagreement back then
44’s was a restaurant on Syracuse University Hill campus. 44 is a number Syracuse running backs wore. Ernie Davis, Jim Brown, Floyd Little took it to the College Football Hall of fame
