As long as you don't chop it in two, it's worth 1c.

okay, in answer: they were asking for info in the event that you may have thought it had some kind of error.

    and, no, no added value

You shouldn't take everything you see and hear on BoobTube as gospel. You are only being told a small portion of the truth. There are too many people who use that forum for their own personal gain because the restrictions are so lax, and the less you know, the better it is for them. We do have at least one member, here, who uses BoobTube for his own personal benefit and contributes exactly zero to these forums.

Since Chris was being so nice and didn't mention the name, it wasn't a "silversearcher" video, was it? Unfortunately, and is the case with the aforementioned, YouTube is filled with a ton of click bait nonsense and questionable claims of value posted by people who couldn't care less what happens to the viewer as long as they get what they want.

Desirability and/or value of a coin is determined by many factors, mostly how many people want one. The 1976 cent is not particularly scarce, but an almost identical cent made in Denver in 1914 is worth a lot.

    I
It's a slight Misaligned Die Strike. That's considered a minor error. Common occurrence in Cents from the 70's
No real premium on this type of Cent error

Those are good factors. But the most important thing if its a minor undesirable error or a major desirable error. It takes time and knowledge to understand the differences and rarities found. Just be patient.

One of the concerns I have with error coins. Hard to tell what's worth anything and what is just an interesting bit to keep around that would bore most people and many collectors to tears. Just at a show where a dealer had a binder full of pages of minor errors in Lincoln cents he had taken in trade and was trying to get a buck each.
