Here are coins purchased for inclusion in my main coin collection focus, my Type Set.

I collect and expanded 7070 Type set, which I joking refer to as an 8080 Type Set. This collection is my primary goal in the hobby, so it's the most important for me to be patient and selective for inclusions. I have the double challenge of also obtaining only "affordable" coins. Of course, that is entirely subjective term, but for me it means I stay in the <$500 price tag range.

I've said that all before, so without further yammering:

A "colonial" coin (really a post colonial coin). I chose a Massachusetts coin becuase Maine was still a part of Mass during the colonial period. It made perfect sense to me to keep with my sub-theme of Maine types whenever possible within a certain spot in the set.

I am sort of bothered by the rim bump at 1:00, so I am not sure this will stay long term. I am still unfortunately making the mistake of sometimes missing the trees for the forest. If the overall look of the coin is pleasing to me, I sometimes miss a little detail that later bothers me.

I set a goal of finally getting a CAC approved Classic head cent. Unfortunately, the first coin I bought (which I still like), failed to sticker. This will be be second attempt. Low numeric grade classic head cents seem to be a particular hard slot to get CAC approved. Seller photos below, as I dont have proper photos yet.

This is a downgrade/upgrade coin for the HALF DIME - SEATED LIBERTY, TYPE 2, NO DRAPERY spot. I had a coin I liked better in some ways, but that failed CAC, and I think I ultimately agree with their assessment. This coin below is CAC approved and has a nice even pleasing wear. Sorry for lack of good photos to really show this coin in the proper lighting.

Toned Jefferson, TYPE 1, ORIGINAL DESIGN with DESIGNER INITIALS. I decide to break Type 1 into "without" and "with" designer initials, but I can completely understand if other Type collectors consolidate these types.

Clad Roosevelt dime. I wanted a toned example. I like this coin, but not sure I love it.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this coin. Has the perfect "look" to me. If I could have all my coins with skin like this, I would be very happy indeed.

State Quarter series represented by the Maine coin, of course.

Upgraded from Draped Bust Half Dollar coin I like, to the below coin I like better. Planning on sending this one in to CAC in 2026. I am a sucker for the CircCam look.

Another non-CAC approved coin I purchased and plan to send them for review. there are certain series that are very hard to get stickered, and seated liberty "no motto" dollars are one of them. I liked the details on this coin, particularly the eagle.

Been looking for a California fractional for a long time. Particularly, I wanted to get a Octagonal type. This coin is a top purchase for, probably #2.

This was an upgrade from a fully brown coin. I liked this one a little better. 51600306 template.jpg

Mint state example which upgraded an AU coin.

That's it! These are the only coins to make it into my set this year. I am starting to run out of types that I still need, want, and can afford.

Great looking coins but especially that Massachusetts coin, your old silver all of them are amazing, but your Massachusetts coin, dang that's nice! thumbupp.gif

Great coins. I love Seated coins and nothing gets better than a New Orleans coin. I don't think the Seated dollar would CAC. There is a significant gash to the Shield on the Eagle but from a collector point of view it is far less serious because it hides in the details rather than starkly standing out in a field. james

Great mix of additions! I like that octagonal California fractional the most (no particular reason besides finding it cool). The Seated Dollar would be my second favorite-those are challenging to find both nice and affordable (it took me some type when I was doing a Dansco album and I was looking for a details example, which was still hard to find at a reasonable rate).

As far as the clad dime, it is nice but I think you can upgrade it for a reasonable price. GC has had quite a few over the last few months. Some get bid up but others I have seen end at decent rates (I don't tend to chase them as dimes are not my favorites so that should eliminate some competition for you :p ....unless it's something truly monster toned, then no promises :D).
