Will admit there's coins I've submitted to ANACS for sentimental reasons, and some just for ease of preservation/storage, regardless of the value of the coins. The 1986-S Statue of Liberty half dollar I have graded certainly wasn't worth the grading fee, but it's a coin I've owned since it was minted and part of when I had just started my interest in coin collecting, so it was worth it for that reason.
This just arrived today: Somehow even though I have made it a point to try to get every baseball related US coin, I only recently learned this one even existed. Probably because I tend not to immediately associate the Olympics with baseball. (Still need the 1992 Olympic baseball silver dollar, and the 1997 Jackie Robinson silver dollar, then I'll officially have all US, non-gold, baseball related commemorative coins.) P.S. US modern commemorative half dollars are surprisingly cheap in the secondary market; I should check if there's any others I want for my collection.
I saw this today at a coin shop, didn't have one of this date year, it was a decent coin, relatively inexpensive, so I thought why not? So I did.
