Picked up this 50-D 5FS special label Jefferson off eBay from MBarr coins, it was packaged very well and slab was perfect so if your on here thank you everything was perfect. It's my first NCG graded coin and my research says they are pretty good at grading and attribution. I picked it up because I really want to start learning more about full steps and visually tell if it is on my own. I know these pictures aren't great because I haven't really got a set up yet for taking the best photos, it will be something I will start working on. I just wanted to share the coin.

IMO…the steps are broken in the middle by the contact mark. Not 5FS. NGC might make allowances in a multitude of ways, shapes and forms for the date but that doesn’t look kosher to me…Spark
Meow likes those kinds of nickels. Meow has small pawful of FS soap bar anacs in the Cat Hoard somewhere.
What's even more fun are the 5 1/2 and 5 3/4 slabs. I am with Spark on this one There is a bag mark near center that breaks the continuity of the 3,4,5 steps. This should keep the coin from being FS. The void under Pillar 2 (left of the bag mark) is from a rough planchet (void) these a lot of times will be looked over and pass.
well darn, you'd think that NGC being more reputable it'd be what label says. I know, the old saying buy the coin not the slab but I'd like to get ahold of one that is legit 5FS because on details as such I learn better in hand studying.
