The fingerprinted coin is about as unattractive as they could have made it. Somehow, it's banged up in addition to the fingerprints. We have chain cents that exist in higher grade that were clearly handled with care when made, and today they couldn't even manage something of quality fitting the occasion. "Out with a whimper" is how I'd describe the last cent.
It's a shame that something that could have been a truly momentous finale to perhaps the most well-known single item in our country's history would be so terribly mishandled. No respect for history, or for those that made it.
