Pulled this one from an original bag. Yeah it's terminal but has an interesting look to it. I usually find them with partial browns or much darker green verdigris. Here is one that is more pleasant to the eye.
That top one is pretty cool as you clearly see the bag imprinted. It is popular and valuable on Morgans (paired with great color); this might be the first I've seen on a Lincoln cent.
I have never in my life seen a textile toned Lincoln. That is wild. I've seen a few peace dollars with textile toning, but they are rare.
It is heavily corroded real heavy and thick toning, half of me thinks it would be body bagged. I definitely have no plan on any type of restoration, it is something that I don't trust myself with.
His last post was in August, so it seems he doesn't come around here very often any more. He might appear if summoned, depending on how he has his email notifications set up.
Do you still have the Lincoln Struck thru cloth/canvas? I would love to see it again. It was the first coin I thought of when I found this one.
No, I sold it because it didn't really fit my collection. It was super cool, and I was glad to own it for a while, but my money was better used elsewhere. I do still have pictures of it, though:
Sorry Guys, ICG has become a sweat-mill. We are looking for a new building, and have added two more slab machines and over twenty new employees in the last year. That struck thru is crazy! Hope PF got a good price. As for the bag toned lincoln - I've never seen another one. I have seen coins that were in Whitman folders with backwards letters transferred on to them as toning. PS The $10 rate still exists for CT members but the turnaround time will be over three weeks now.
