Bought this tonight, something tells me this coin might be special. But then again, I've been wrong before. :D Full disclosure, coin is raw, hasn't even been shipped yet so guesses might not be revealed for quite a while. I think it may be 1878P, 7/8 TF VAM 41-C, and no idea if that comes with a premium or not. I had to bid hard on it, a couple of other people apparently thought it was worth doing so. I think I might have done something bad in their bowl of wheaties, 2 other bidders anyway. :p I already have a 78P, 7/8 TF that PCGS graded MS61, it's not nearly as nice as this one, not even close. 1878 7-8 obv.jpg 1878 7-8 rev.jpg

That’s looks really nice, maybe a MS-64. I see why you think it’s 7/8 TF but I don’t think it is.

Thanks!! It's got some bag marks but I think I got a decent deal. I posted it over on Vam World and Messydesk confirmed the VAM for me.

This is the second coin you have posted with a die crack thru the first few stars. Die cracks always make coins much more interesting. I cannot judge the luster using these pictures. The coin could be a 64 or a 65 based on number and placement of marks. Very clean coin. Congrats. James

That's what I thought to begin with, but I'm going to go with the other guesses of 64............. (me being completely unbiased and all) . ;):p

I say MS-63, but I could see it in a 64 holder too.

@Barney McRae Now I can see the three points from the doubled tail feathers. The ones I’ve seen are a little more pronounced but you got it correct. Nice pickup.

I'll jump on the 64 bandwagon. Clueless about VAMs.

There's actually 4. If you are looking at it on a phone, you might not be able to see them all. Enlarge the photo and look at the die clashes under the chin. It is the bearded lady.

Very nice coin! I'd guess a 64 as well, and those clashes are always fun to look at.

I only have Internet on my cell phone. It’s difficult to see everything on this hand held device.
