I've had a foray into the later Eastern Roman Empire, and while I've been successful identifying the earlier coins 40 bronzes with M, I've just bought this Trachy. W.G. Sayles' book Ancient Coin Collecting V was slightly helpful indicating the Emperor/sword could be Theodore I Comnenus-Laskaris, but the coin featured in the book has two figures/two swords. Internet searches have left me with no ideas . The coin not yet arrived has no weight or size sorry. Could anyone help please?
I know very little about identifying Byzantine coins, but a quick look at Wildwinds shows numerous examples of Theodorus I C-L with one figure and one sword. Theodore I - Byzantine Coinage thumbnail index - WildWinds.com
