i'm interested in collecting Newfoundland coins but haven't figured out where to start - my budget limits me to the lower grades in most of the coins. i was thinking of starting with the George V 50 cent pieces since there are only 4 dates and AU examples are within my budget.

any suggestions on collecting these coins?

    thanks for the link.

i spoke with a well versed Canadian dealer last night and his suggestion was to start with the George V coins in XF/AU (20 coins total) and then go for the Edward VII coins. if i had the funds, his suggestion would have been to buy the Victoria series coins first - they are on the march.

    Newfoundland is hot right now.
