I can only go to one unfortunately and this is the first time I am going to either one. My collection areas are multiple crowns ( 2 talers , 2 scudos etc) and coins from Ceylon. I am not going buy whole a lot but want to get the big show experience for my collection areas. Any feedback on the high one is the best ? Is it best to visit first day or weekend ?

I'll be going to FUN to get away from the cold weather.

I've never been to a coin show. Maybe I should go to NYC in Jan. It's a train ride away. I would want to visit NGC and PCGS to drop stuff off, is that advisable? Also, it would be an opportunity to meet a few of the dealers that I've met on V coins. I'll have to think about it.

I will have to fly out to either one. I am leaning more towards FUN show as I don’t like NY that much . But the NY shows sounds like very much focus on world coins which is what I collect .

I've never been to either, but some buddies on discord have nothing but great things to say about the NYINC show as we're mostly world collectors. If you're interests lie in the world sector, I think it would be a better show if you're looking to add to your collection. I'm sure FUN will have some world material too, but I assume it's very US heavy.

There are several threads about coin show etiquette, so I'd read those too. My biggest tips are take cash and a pen/paper. I promise, your memory will fail you if you need to go back to look at a potential purchase at a show this big!

New York is New York. Even the pro day is busy. Lots of world dealers that we all know and a great show along with the ability to see the coins in hand for the auctions every year. I go every year I can. That said I have never gone to FUN but the big world dealers are in New york

From what I've heard, NYINC might be better for World coins, though you can certainly find plenty at FUN. I always attend FUN when I do go to shows, due to my location in the Southeast (drive instead of fly).

Many years ago, I decided to go to one of the large shows at least once in my life. I went with the winter FUN Show only because so many of my coin forum friends were going to be there.
Almost changed my mind when I figured the total cost of the trip but I booked it. It was hard to not think of the cool coins I could buy with that same money.

When I first walked into the show, all I could say was WOW. I was hooked and it became a yearly deal for me. Being able to meet with so many great dealers and friends became really important for the collections I was working on.

This next FUN is going to be interesting to see what gold and silver are being bought and sold for. The show starts in about a month.

I would love to go to both, but since my wife and I have sworn off New York City, I will only got to FUN. There is a large foreign coin area at FUN, but, from what I’ve heard, it can’t compare with the New York show. One year a big British dealer, Sovereign Rarities, came to FUN before they went to New York. It was wonderful, but I guess they didn’t do well enough to return.

If you're a world coin collector, there's no debate. Go to NYINC. That show is 99% non-US coins and many of the international dealers only do that single show in the US. Some of those dealers don't have websites, so this is your chance to see their inventory.

The FUN show is fine, but it is very US oriented.

Thanks everyone for your input. I might do a same day trip to NY.
