    Then again, she actually picked him, while marriages were usually arranged by the parents/families then. Interesting by the way how flexible some people's ideas of "ancient" are. Would not have thought that 15/16c coins are discussed here. But, oh well. ;)

    While the gold and silver coins certainly are wonderful, the great rarity to seek out would be a blanca with full legends and well struck monograms. I certainly have never seen one.

    Wow! She looks at LOT more attractive on coin! Had, I been Ferdinand, I would have ordered a Country wide beauty pageant, and picked the "winner";) A Jennifer Lopez type.

    If I remember right, their union is what united the two main regions of the Iberian peninsula and would create what we know now as Spain. It may have been more of a strategic move than a passion filled courtship?
