    Unfortunately, can't tell anything with those blurry pics, except that a little bit of the date of the undertype shows in the third photo. Interesting piece, nonetheless.

    Need clear photos. Don't even post these Bigfoot photos.
    I would love to see a 1981 struck over a 1956.

    Wow that is nice.
    Why did they mint over it? They must have blank planchets.
    Was it tossed in intentionally like some of the US mint "errors"?
    What is the story behind this error coin?

    Nobody really knows wby these overstrikes were done, except as mint sport as they are certainly not of the same metal composition. I like that the date and much of the design of the "undercoin" is seen including the date. I think my other one is over a 1953 but that is buried somewhere along with some other bits and bobs.
