So I go to a thrift shop

today and bought a led desk light for a $1.59 and a little bowl for 25 cents.
Here are the results.

That's cool! Cool way to capture edge inscriptions .

 

This looks like it will handle up to a half dollar size coin, I've been using a large flashlight reflector which works well.
but for 25 cents it was worth a try, but what else do I have to do I'm retired.

 

The reflector might also be useful to depict a cud on the rim of a coin:

 

Cool. What is that 1795-dated piece? Some kind of silver round?

 

The reverse using a different led light, not a silver round I think it's brass.

 

The wife drags me to the thrift shops all the time.........we have fun looking for neat 'throw away' items that add to her decorating flair but I usually find nothing more than a few good books to read.

 

Not sure if they did different versions but it originally came with a red look.

 

I have 2 and both have the same look.

 

It give me something to do, I'll pick up books read them and donate them back.
Same with music and movies.
I find it fun to go to these places.
