What WOULDN'T anybody like about that coin??? UNFAIR! I would complain about how numismatically persecuted I am feeling right now replete with a multi-paragraph complaint about how unfair the mods are in this thread, kind of like the one someone else made about the mods in a previous post here. But I don't have that guy's flair for drama. So I'll express how oppressed I feel with this Matt Groening comic (I'm the one whose head comes to a point): ......and my guess is the mod is the one with the rope and gag, but you will notice that in the end, who ended up being tied and gagged. So play nice and stay away from politics, religion, and world events or check out partisanlines.com to meet new buddies who will be happy to discuss any and all of those areas. Jim
Holy mackerel, P&G, what's with the excessive obverse fingerprints so soon? BTW, that IS the one I was referring to upthread. That incuse silhouette is supposed to be at least semi-mirrored, isn't it? This is the first time I've seen the reverse. Thanks for that.
@V. Kurt Bellman Kurt I have a couple pawn shops that I buy silver for spot. No matter how much I tell them to keep their grimy paws off the coins they still do. I do believe you are right about the mirrored silhouette, But I'd have to find it to be sure.
I would never buy a Donny or Charliy coin. Ever. I am Interested in American coins. Now a Piggy coin, where's big bird.
Yep, that was right about the time I posted that comment. He went crazy one too many times over a damaged coin that a newbie posted.
I think it was over someone using Kurt's photo, edited, as an avatar. Kurt threatened legal action against Peter. I apparently misread the post dates last night, and thought you'd resurrected the thread. I should've known better.
I'm surprised he hasn't had one made and layered with 20 cents worth of electro plated gold and sold them as pure gold coins.
I don't think you can post anything concerning the president without eliciting lots of comments. Maybe the mere mention of the President should be banned?
I think it's entirely possible to acknowledge the current president does in fact exist without feeling the need to discuss one's feelings about the things he says and does. He's the current boss of the Secretary of the Treasury and the Director of the Mint; he's going to get a mention here and there. I personally don't care what people think of him either, and here I only care about him to the degree it pertains to the topic at hand.
For the love of God there ain't no way you can make the guy look good on a coin or medal....Mr. ego should recluse himself.
Whatever else people think of him, he's not Voldemort lol. I don't think the policy here should be that he become "he who must not be named." We're all adults here; we should be able to acknowledge he exists and that he's currently the president without also reflexively spouting out our personal feelings on what he says and does, beyond that which directly pertains to coins. One would hope, anyway.
