Hey everyone I have this great find from coin roll hunting. I need help with what it would probably grade
I wear glasses to correct a double-vision problem. But even with my glasses off, I'm not seeing the DDO. Then again, I do not profess to be an expert. Nice looking 45-year-old Lincoln cent, however. Then again, they minted nearly 3 billion of them.
I hope it's a DDO, but I think I might see some shelf-like machine doubling on the "7" and the "2"... waiting for the experts to chime in...
When I hear "DDO", this is what I think of. Or what I generally see without glasses. Back in 1973, my buddies and I sifted through countless bank rolls of 1972 Lincoln cents hoping to find one of these. We never did.
Yes I can give me a couple mins cuz it takes a few to set camera holder up. Just holds it steady for me
Nikki, after reviewing the pics of IGWT, I say no to the doubled die. Sorry about this one, but keep looking, they are out there.
I've read the articles you experts post and I'll tell ya that particular md represented above is very hard to distinguish from dd. I know md has shelf like appearance and is generally a lot lower than the normal devices. Any advice to help distinguish one from the other
Nikki, there are some great pics and detailed descriptions of the various 1972 DDO varieties that can be found on the Lincoln Cent Resource site. You might want to check that out if you have not done so already.
