I have been slowly trying to put together a 3rd century crisis set focused around the reign of Gallalianus including some of usurpers that are within my plebeian means. Two of these usurpers that I have been hunting down are the eastern usurpers Macrianus the Younger and Quietus. I was thrilled to see a new Quietus on the block the other day while simultaneously having funds for the purchase. I pushed the check out button, paid and I just got the coin today:D I am super stoked with my new purchase. I think it is as attractive as more than most out there. What I like about this example is the ninety-nine percent full legends, not unattractive silvering, high bust detail (I can almost see the outline of the ear!), and yeah this Quietus ran into Lord Voldemort but that just makes him special like Harry Potter!:D
And of course it looks better in hand:)

Wikipedia gives a fairly good history hear:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quietus
And here is seller pics and iPhone pics below. Will get better pics soon.
    Feel free to post yours:)

Mine's not as nice as yours. I got it from eBay a couple of years ago:
    Antioch mint
    Billon Antoninianus
Obv: IMP C FVL QVIETVS P F AVG
Rev: APOLINI CONSERVA - Apollo, standing left, holding laurel branch, left hand on lyre
    RIC (Vol.V, Part II) 3
    22mm, 3.1g.

I've been wanting a Macrianus to go with it for some time. Finally found one in my price range a few months ago:
    Antioch mint
    Billon Antoninianus
Obv: IMP C FVL MACRIANVS P F AVG
Rev: SPES PVBLICA - Spes, walking left, holding flower and raising robe
    [Star] in left field
    RIC (Vol.V, Part II) 13
    22mm, 2.9g.

Thanks for the kudos on my coin:) Its great to see all the other fantastic Quietus and Macrianus coins posted. Hope there are more coming!! I have found my search for both Quietus and Macrianus a challenge. I am still on the hunt for a Macrianus but will need some time to refill the coffers.

I have a Macrianus also. Thanks for the invite @TJC . It is not great, but helps me fill in the long line of Roman Rulers. I got this one from Warren Esty:

RI Macrianus 260-261 CE BI Ant Spes Publica star Obv-Rev.jpg
Macrianus, Roman emperor (usurper), summer 260 - early summer 261. Rare!
    Base AR 22. 6:00. 4.42 grams.
IMP C FVL MACRIANVS PF AVG
    SPES PVBLICA
    * in field left
Struck at an uncertain Eastern mint. Typical surfaces. (In this period the metal is rarely better than this.)
    Sear 3.10811. RIC 13, page 581, "R2" (very rare)

    Better photos below:)
I am happy with the obverse photo because it shows the surfaces well. I will need reshoot the Rx. The lower left corner is not lit to my liking. Oh well it was a hurried shoot.

I never have owned a Quietus but will show a Macrianus AE24 Provincial from the alliance of Nicaea and Byzantium.
