That amazing coin sold for the price of a very decent single family home -
310000 pounds. Add about 24 % to that.

    I had 3 coins in my wish-list.
Only managed to get one, but I am happy:)
It was lot 43. A lovely Vespasian sestertius of a scarce type.
The prices were very strong, but the bronzes on offer just amazing.

No kidding! (And some of the estimates were ridiculously low, getting my hopes up.) I'm glad somebody here got something.

Even though I should know better, I too was enticed by the very low estimates:
A Germanicus 'Signis Receptis' dupondius for double the estimate?? Sure, why not, I'll take it - just to be sure I put in 4X estimate.....that ought to do it!
    Oh well...

To console myself I bought a budget Balbinus today. If I manage to make it look good with my camera, I will post it here :)

Be great to see what you found:).

I was also in need of some 'consolation' during yesterdays' auction - and was about to bid on coins that I really do not focus on, just to feel better.
This is never a good move, and I am glad that I restrained myself.
There is always another day and another chance.....
