You’re having Christmas early this year! Glad you found them. As my mother always said, growing old is the hardest thing I’ve had to do. She was tight but so was too young to believe her. I do now. Glad you found them.
I hate to admit this but somewhere in the house is a holed and badly abused 1/2 disme... Though I know where it was dropped and "not found" so it's most likely resting place is under the bookshelf beside my desk and as it is bolted to the wall it may be many years before I can check under it for that piece lol
I once found a gold quarter indian in the side of my easy chair. I knew I must have let it slip down there back when I had knee surgery and was rummaging through my coins in an opiate haze.
My desk has not been moved in 30 years. I'll need a hazmat suit to figure out what may be lost back there.
When we moved into our house, I built a sort of combined bench/desk and shelves that occupy most of the bedroom I claimed as my office -- in 1996. It won't be moved until we move out, most likely. The "hazmat" part might be uncomfortably literal, as I did do some amount of electronic work there, mostly with good old-fashioned non-lead-free solder. At least I never tried to reconstitute the chemistry set in that room.
Lol, I have similar. I find coins ALL OF THE TIME. I buy and then forget about it. I have found single coins, bags of coins, one time 9 world gold coins that to this day I have absolutely no memory of ever buying. Its really fun, its like buying them again but this time they are free!
hehe ain't got one... 2 nice indoor/outdoor chairs and a nice extremly comfy "satilight" chair (good luck getting out of it) that and my reclining/massaging computer chair are the only seating.. I don't entertain and the lawn chairs are there for the rare times the kids visit.. Personaly I want more bookshelves but the woman says we gotta keep room for the kids lol
I'd be treading on thin ice asking her to do that. Shed just get my son to do it and keep the proceeds for herself anyway. Bruce
Nice find! Ain't it fun to cherrypick yourself? I once found a 20c piece in my car, that I didn't remember owning. Another time, I dropped a roll of red BU 1954-D Wheat cents and they rolled everywhere on the laminate flooring. Many ended up under my desk and other pieces of furniture. I was finding them for a while. Unfortunately, when I finally recovered most of the strays, they had developed nasty carbon spots, and/or scratches from the grit on the floor.
Boy that brings back some memories ! For me, it wasn't exactly a "room", it was the attic. My mom never was too happy about all those holes in the roof. But I explained to her that it was all her fault. She's the one who sternly insisted that I come downstairs at a rather critical moment. All because she wanted to know what that smell was. If it wasn't for me having to go downstairs immediately - it never would have happened We now return you to our regularly scheduled programming.
Seems like the attic would be the worst place for chemistry. No running water, anything you spill can leak into the rest of the house, and some things get less stable when it gets hot (we won't discuss details of how I learned this). Mine was always in the basement. Most of the bad gases are heavier than air. "Mom? Don't go in the basement for a little bit. Everything's fine, I've opened the windows, just... don't go in the basement for a little bit."
We were barely allowed in the house, dirty animals we were, our experiments were either in the garage, the back yard or the middle of the street. I was surprised by what a black cat would do to my sisters Barbie, but she wasn't at all impressed.
