Got another gold coin pendant, normally these are easy to sell, but that'll come later as the price of gold reaches historical prices, more historical than right now! :D

"you can't get a graded Canadian coin for about 60% of Greysheet and it be toned as well....."

....you see, this was $83.60 w/Buyer's Fee, and Greysheet is $140. First time I think I've ever owned a George V in any better than AG."

Just got this one last week. Poor man's upgrade of a tougher date in UNC condition.

That may be the nicest Jefferson I've ever seen - what a beautiful coin!

Thanks everyone. It is starting to form that pinkish gold tone. Very light. You can’t really tell from these pics. A few very minor nicks in well placed areas. I like it quite a bit.

The silver itch got to me yesterday, so a trip to my LCS resulted in this addition to the hoard.

@The Half Dime - that looks like it got hit by a shotgun; those two smaller hits on the reverse nearly punched through! The lead might still be in there. Wonder what the story was behind that?

That would sure be an interesting one. I think someone tried to punch additional holes in it but was unsuccessful.

Consider that my uneducated guess. ;)

I got this on GreatCollections, and call me crazy if you will but I think this coin is mint state. I can see no signs of wear, and a rather strong strike to boot.

I paid $74.80 for it, which is right near CPG for a 53, but if it hits MS like I think it would, it's a good $20 gain or more. Bid is $95 in a 60, $102 in a 61, and $130 in a 62.

Through the photos, I grade it a 61. Looks like she's scratched up on the cheek but it could be the holder. The crazy guy I probably am, I think I can get more out of this raw.

Coin looks MS60 to me. Lots of noise going on on her face, plus possibly overdipped to get rid of what might have been uneven and ugly toning, but doesn't look circulated to me either. Maybe the grader thought he was giving you (ie, the coin) a break by net grading and giving it a 53 rather than MS60, Details? I'm not sure if that is helping the value or not.

Well, my wife and I took a trip to Cabo, Mexico last week. We flew out of DFW, so, since my ex- wife lives in that area, we spent the night before and 2 nights after the trip at her house. She dropped us off, and picked us up from the airport, which was very helpful and appreciated. When we got back, I picked the lock on a fire resistant box she had that she had lost the key to. We were looking at some things left to her from her Dad, which included several coins. He wasn't really a "collector", but had accumulated some through the years. One is the one below, an 1869 Three Cent Piece. She had never seen one. I told her that I had an 1865, 1866, 1867, 1868 and 1870, but was missing the 1869. So, she gave it to me. She knows that I will be leaving it to our Grandson, so it's not leaving the family. Anyway, it's not the greatest, but it's very much appreciated and valued to me! As you can see, when he bought it, it was $2.50, lol.
