Bah, I read all the threads I can. I have never used the follow option.

 

Literal translation:

= bucktooth = hayseed = dummy = very entertaining!
= confused
= wacky
= "F" list

 

I tack back my previous to some degree. I enjoy reading BadThad's posts. Obvious intelligence and education and I do read other's posts (albeit for different reasons other than seeking knowledge, rather for reconfirming my learned beliefs and prejudices).

 

@BadThad is a perfect example. He's A++ Thanks.

 

The man asked a simple question and whether or not we understand his quest, we should not be obstinate.

That said, I disagree with trying to pigeonhole people as either knowledgeable or unknowledegable. Especially here. People in numismatics on the hobby side tend to specialize and while they may not understand the intricacies of Morgan Dollars, they may be a HUGE authority on Matte Proof Lincolns.

Trying to separate people into groups of good or bad is almost impossible because few will meet the criteria to be knowledgeable on all fronts.

I would also note that publicizing who you follow and who you do not, or tagging people as belonging to one group or the other is unproductive and although it can sound like quite a compliment to those on the A list, it can be insulting to the rest.

I follow you because you are entertaining and actually have many good insights. I have also seen you change your mind which is an invaluable trait.

I follow Cazkaboom and Detecto92 but they haven't posted in ages.

I follow BadThad because he is a fellow chemist whose advice I believe.

I follow SpiritYoda because he has a good heart.

 

I follow Rare-tim just to get a good laugh!
He does not follow any of us because we are just novices with no kind of expertise in any type of coin!

I agree 100%. That's why I allowed people from different specialties (errors, ancients) to be included. Two from each specialty. That is also why I made sure that although there are more than two - perhaps twenty - on each form that may be considered informed and very helpful; to make my job easier, I only wished each poster to give their top two. So far I've received two answers and a bunch of unnecessary .

I agree, however, I have found several CT posters to be very knowledgeable in several specialties if not almost all numismatics.
I am following them already and do not choose to "tag" them here.

I agree. See my posts above in this thread. Furthermore, anyone who wishes to spend as much time as I have checking out posters can easily separate the "weeds" from the rest and then the "best from the rest."

I only wanted some more leads to those I may have missed...

Actually, about the whole following thing, a question was asked previously about the way you read CoinTalk. I get an e-mail with threads (I guess these might include people I "follow") and I choose one and go to CT...I run down the "Recent Topics" at the right-hand side to see what is new and I might want to read...I then check my "Alerts"...I check my "News Feed"...I go back to my e-mail (in a different tab) to see anything else I want to read...and finally I will check the "New Posts"...whew.

@ Whomever, several members claim that you always know what you are talking about, that you are very informed and have helped them to learn about all aspects of numismatics. I also see you have 20,000 posts with 400 "best answers" and 19,000 likes. I hope you realize that they have all insulted you!

Please stop. I don't wish to expand my "F" list. I'm looking for "A's."

 

Ohhhhhhhhhhh...I thought your F list meant Friends...

 

I do much the same except when things are quiet. Then, I go to the list of people I follow and search all the recent activity of the "F's" so I can post any disagreement as is usually warranted.

Note: I consider EVERYONE here to be a friend. I disagree with some of them, argue with some, learn from many, and enjoy the barbs and humor. Ain't it great to be an American!

I try to read every single post so I don't really follow anybody, but I do have posters who I know are knowledgeable in their subject areas.

For Morgan's, @Cascade and heavy cam monstervam
Then their are others who are very knowledgeable in numismatics who I can't think of a specific area for, but I think of qualified.
