First I want to say that I appreciate all of your advices but for many reasons I'm depending on you guys and I hope not being the annoying man here, thank you again for your help Here is another coin , what's your opinion about it ?
Nothing too special. Little better grade and much tougher date than most coins you see in circulation. It will take a couple hundred rolls of nickels to find a nicer one of this date, maybe a little fewer. Looks like it was spent back in the '80's because of carbon spots. Sometimes coins like this will get lost somewhere for many years and get carbon spots because of the environment. This could have happened anytime in the last half century. Some people also save S mint coins so it could have an even simpler explanation.
I've been reading most of your posts since you joined last week, and the one thing you do that makes it hard for most of us to do anything but guess is the fact that you almost never tell us what you are thinking about a coin. No one can read your mind, so it would be very helpful for you to tell us, specifically, what you think about a particular coin from the "get-go" and take the guessing game out of the equation. Chris
Indeed. There are a few hundred thousand mint sets left but a lot of these have tarnished nickels now days.
There is no guessing game Chris , as I said before I have these coins from my uncle who was a coins collector and he passed away , these coins spent 5 years with my in my box without doing anything with it , a month ago and by luck I found some videos on YouTube for a similar coins sold in auctions with a high price , so I thought maybe I have a coins with a high price I can sell it . I'm not an American citizen and I know nothing about the coins business so I keep following the videos , I knew about coin talk from a YouTube video , there is a channel called blue ridge silver hound that you can check it and you will find what I said. If this website is for the professionals only then I will be thankful if you show me another one l can show the rest of my coins on it. Thank you again
I think you've missed my point. There can be more than one reason why a coin may or may not have value. It could be because of its condition; it could be because it's a variety, or it could be because of an error. These forums are open to everyone. I was just trying to make a suggestion making your experiences here a little easier. Chris
