I wrote a while back that I am following lots of members here and divided them into groups. Several of the members in my top group virtually always (no person's opinion is 100%perfect) post excellent info. I want to add more of these outstanding posters to my list. So... Who are your top two posters on any forum. You can have two on each forum such as two on the ancient forum, two on the error forum, etc. Some posters spread their knowledge around on several forums so can be named twice. Just because your name is not posted here means nothing as some of the forums (ancient especially) probably have a dozen excellent posters. I want the top two in your opinions. This is not a "likeability" survey. Moderators are excluded. I wish to learn from the best! I'm serious about reading your responses. Unfortunately, there are some folks on CT who cannot be serious about anything. Let's see how many jokers post nonsense they think is humorous because they have nothing of importance to add.
Well, that killed this thread. You deserve a "time-out!" Let the fun begin...after all, that's what CT is all about - fun. I'll try this another time.
Insider...fwiw you're not on my top two (or ten) list. I actually don't have a list. But you're not on it anyway.
That's two...You need to learn to read @bdunnse. It's my list. Therefore, I cannot be on it. BTW, congratulations are in order. You are now being followed . No need to tell you which of my groups you are assigned to.
Care to explain? Fact: @Lehigh96 is one of the members I follow for all the good reasons. Doug is another; however, as a mod, he is ineligible to add. I'm not afraid of hurting anyone's feelings and since I limited my request to TWO posters, there are many, many posters in the same category as the two members above who will not be singled out as "Best to Follow" although they are already on my "excellent poster" list. I cannot read everything here so I want to learn those whom other members think are excellent purveyors of info here! It is real simple. Although all of us here are considered to be equals, and everyone has a right to an opinion; nevertheless, I find some members here are more equal than others! How is that for humor?
I don't have a list. I take each thread and the person who posts that thread at its face value. Chris
Now we are making progress. Do you have two posters you rely on for excellent info whenever (95%) they post?
already following you. I enjoy seeing your coin pics and your coin knowledge. I am following 400+ right now my top ones are... jjoo <--- Canada coins jello <--- Canada coins robec <--- toned coins britannia40 <--- world coins stevex6 <---- Canada coins and best in coin humor category lol do not be mad if your name is not on here because I have to go work now.
IMO, there are many uninformed members (many consider me to be one of them ) on CT. Since there is no "don't follow" option, you could "ignore" them. That would mean you cannot try to help them if they post misinformation. Some members I follow are new posters who are here to learn. Some are who need help. Others are longtime members who believe they are very informed numismatists; yet compared to those I include in my excellent group - they are not. It would not be charitable to post an opinion saying a member is a . I have been guilty of that in the past and now I'm trying to be .
I 'read' posts of many but 'follow' is a bit strong since I find that many are speaking from positions of..something. Knowledge can be attained many ways but 'following' certain members seems ridiculous.
I'm not a follower, and I haven't been on the site long, but Superdave is my hero so far. I was reading and gleaning valuable info from his posts on other site, and this site well before I joined any internet numismatic site.
On the contrary, it can be easily confirmed that following a very knowledgeable, informed poster such as two I mentioned above is not ridiculous...it is very intelligent. Since I hope to be on their level one day, I started this thread in order to add a few more knowledgeable numismatists to those on my "A" list. So far, I have only added one member to my "F" list and need to check five others mentioned above.
Why would anyone follow someone who writes using smilies that have no literal translation. Why would anyone care whether you follow them? Who anointed you the arbiter of follow-ability?
