I have been working on my Zimbabwe note collection. A few days ago I ordered a note that was $2 with free shipping. I got it today in a Priority Mail Express envelope with $33.40 of stamped postage on it. Crazy. I can only think that it was uncancelled and reused. Even if this is the case wouldn't you save it for something else? Crazy. The stamps are hand cancelled now... I can't reuse them :(

People sometimes buy stamps for much less than face value off eBay and use them to pay postage on packages. Still not sure why they picked express though.

I don't know. One regular stamp was all that was needed.

He says the shipping cost $33.40.
He paid $2 for the note, with free shipping.
No one is spending $33 to mail something where they are
getting $2 total in return. So there is some foul play in the works.

There is something strange happening in mailing that.

It happened again! I order a few notes from Africa from the same seller. $34 to ship 6 bucks worth of notes. I don't get it! Maybe something is messed up on their end and they think I want 2 day shipping or something. I don't know. Very odd. Not sure if I should say something.

Are the stamps counterfeit? Maybe they intercepted a package with millions of stamps.

Not that I can tell. The one I got today was the same as the one pictured above from about a week ago. Even if they were fake, why use $34 worth? One regular stamp on an envelope would have worked just fine.

I bought a couple notes from the same seller within the past week and had the same thing happen. Mine cost a whopping $13 though.

Odd. I kind of want to order something again and see if it happens again.
