Often when I see coins labeled as environmental damage, I 100% agree with it.

Such is not the case here. It's VF details and I'm gonna have to pay near VF money to get it, but I think it should straight-grade as I've seen worse in better holders.

What do you think? If I buy it I'm looking for a crackout for a raw VF.

No. It looks like it's been cleaned as well. At the very least, it's not super attractive (to me at least) and is not worth paying up for.

Reverse absolutely obverse no, in my opinion. Fairly nice coin.

Myself, no, but only because I have no details coins in my collection. I also wouldn’t want to risk playing the crack out game. I think it’s a decent enough looking coin and I agree that there’s worse looking straight graded, but I’d pass on it.

I would never metal detect my Barber; I have to see him about every three weeks.

No. This coin has clearly been cleaned. It has also developed a splotchy secondary skin that quite obviously floats on the surface of the coin. I am not a professional coin grader but I cannot see any way this coin ever straight grades. Good luck with your collecting. james
