I see a coin up for auction in a Numismatic Conservation Services slab but I'll be danged if I can figure out where to verify the cert on the label. I'm not even sure if I've ever seen a coin in one of their slabs. I don't doubt it's authentic, the auction site is the most reputable. I just wanted to see if there are images of it on the TPG site. NCScoin.com redirects me to the NGC site because it's one of their companies. The verification there says it's not found. I'll also ask/search on the NGC forum but it's slow there so I figured I'd try here first.
Yes, I did that multiple times. "This item cannot be found." Clearly it's still in an NCS slab since it's a current auction. It's graded AU Details. I think all of the NCS slabbed coins are some variety of Details. I looked up other NCS slabs on Heritage and checked the NGC verifier, two different slab generations - none of them work. Checked a NGC Details cert and it works fine, so it doesn't seem to be a problem on my end. I can only speculate that maybe it's because the only grade option in their dropdown is "NGC Details" and they're stored in their database as "NCS Details"? I tried all the AU options, Other, NGC Ancients... Oh well, all I wanted was to see if there were other images of the coin. Sigh.
https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/ Enter number Scroll down the grade to ngc details Might have to drop a cert number or letter depending on what label it has. Good luck looks like you tried most of the options already. All I can add is if we don't know what your looking at We can't help you OR Maybe if you can't find it, you weren't meant to buy it
