At this moment it is imaginary because we need to see pictures of both sides!

And you need to take a picture of the coin with something that has a recent date. Like a newspaper.
There were Dollar coins that were struck with a quarter Die by mistake. Only about 13 or 14 were discovered a few years ago and they are worth a lot of money. It's called a mule error.

So then it was a machined coin.
Not an error but PMD - Post Mint Damage
Someone hollowed out a Dollar coin and inserted a Quarter

Looks Machined. If it were a true mule it would be the same metal composition on both side.
The Quarter looks like a normal clad and the Reverse looks like a golden planchet color.
Someone was trying to mimic an error but it is fake.

And both sides of your coin are the same size of a Quarter. If it were an official mule error it would be the size of a Dollar Coin.

It appears to be "magicians coin" of sorts. The larger coin was hollowed out and the smaller coin seated in it to create this "mule". The technique is often used to create two headed or two tailed coins. This is not a mint error. It is a created novelty item.

    Can't be a mule.
If the dollar on BOTH sides were slightly smaller, and the size of a quarter, then you would have something. Since there is a quarter on one side, it's been altered.

I never claimed it was a true mule, hence the quotation marks. This is simply a novelty coin. It is a created piece from two coins.

That's a fantasy piece. They were being sold on eBay years back.
