Can anyone recommend any shops that deal with old, old U.S. type coins? I'm looking for a problem-free, low grade (AG or G) flowing hair half dollar. Thanks.
Thanks. Checking them out now. BTW, before anyone mentions them, I've already checked out some of the "Usual Suspects": David Lawrence, Heritage Auctions, GreatCollections...
I went looking at dealers that I have bought from but no luck. Found a few but they were EF-AU. I'll keep watching.
I cannot say for sure since I do not collect those but here are a few dealers I would consider: David Khan Gerry Fortin Coast to Coast Northeast Numismastics Elizabeth Coggan You might also try a search on Collectors Corner (They offer dozens of dealer coins on one site) Nevada Numismatics Angel Dee. That's all I can think of right now. Good luck and Happy collecting. James
I did a quick check. here are a few of my secondary sources: Harlan J. Berk Northern Nevada Coin The Reeded Edge In God We Trust Numismatics Sarasota Numismatics MA coin shops Again Good luck. James
One last source I forgot to mention. Stacks/Bowers Auctions sometimes has exceptional coins. Be aware of their Fee structure and don't be surprised if you get blown away in an auction; theirs are quite competitive. james
