Yeah, that's the only thing I come up with, Ed. I haven't been over there for quite a spell, but there was some stuff that I had posted there a few years ago that I wanted to check over and poof....vanished without a trace. I know @expat used to visit there. Perhaps he knows something?
I am thinking that @lordmarcovan had posted about this not long ago. Maybe he will jump aboard and fill in the blanks soon.
Looks like it was present up to end FY 2024 - then Shazam. Last screenshot 25th April 2025: NumisSociety
Hmm, I just compared the Whois info with a site I moderated that rececently went dark because the owner chose not to pay for it any more. The Domain Status messages are consistent with a site that didn't pay its bills. Too bad, I don't remember who started the site but I believe we was/is a member here.
Sorry for 5he delay in responding. Hackers got to us. The cost to restore with upgraded software was just too great. It was a nice run, and I value the friendships made.
I've seen this happen before. There was a great site for modelers passionate about accurate prototypes called protomodeler . com. Amazing workmanship of model railroad locomotives and cars. Museum quality. Was great for years then one day just disappeared. I think there just wasn't enough membership to keep the site going but was interesting to see how hard core some people are. It was a site where you could be proud of how accurately you weathered a model to match a prototype in a period of time and somebody would provide constructive criticism explaining where you missed a rivet and grab iron was slightly out of place. Not enough people that are serious to that level I guess and not surprised.
