Walking along and you see a lantern on the ground. You pick it up and secretly rub it hoping nobody sees you..... But just in case the legend is true. Lo and behold out pops your coin genie and offers you one coin. What would it be? Mine is below...
I googled largest gold coin ever made. It thought it was the canadian $1 million dollar one but it is this one.
I'll take this... This issue is another great US classic and is highly desirable. The reported mintage figure for the issue is 20 examples, but none were struck for general circulation. Interestingly several examples are known that have been circulated to various degrees. Choice examples have sold for over $500,000 in recent years. Melt value at just under $19
I dunno . . . that King-aroo looks like it rolls pretty darned good! Especially from the top of a hill.
It's actually slightly more than a metric tonne, 32500 ozt which is 2228.6 lbs. I'm not that greedy so I'd probably get this one. Also it's easier to carry around.
It’s like musical chairs in reverse. If you buy it, you’re stuck with it, because nobody else will be able to buy it from you.
I've been incredibly blessed at this party. Great family, beautiful grandchildren, still looking down at the grass, but, @Randy Abercrombie, your coin genie game requires a coin wish. With that being the case I'd submit a modest request to our ever loving genie for any pre '33 double eagle. I don't have one and I've always wanted one. I think it's one of the most beautiful coins ever minted. I've never been one to ask for much. I try to be happy with the cards I'm dealt. I do hope we all run into our genie one day.
