Can't even trust a slabbed coin!

    Hence the need to learn for yourself how to grade. At first glance, no way these two objects in the holder could achieve '68 status. Forget the fact that that holders (and probably the coins too) are bogus forgeries......

    I am educated.
    As my post clearly states this was my late father - in - laws collection. It was obvious to me that they were not real. Just trying to help out those that may not be familiar with them...but thanks for criticizing.

    No Criticism, just furthering your goals to educate.
    I'm not much of a reader, some of my education has come through more expensive lessons. :p

    You’re a bit late to the party. We’ve been aware of counterfeit slabs here for a long time. They try to emulate the top TPGs and many are much closer than these slabs. Sometimes they’ll use real serial numbers on fake slabs but the coin is fake. This has been going on for a while now. Sometimes the only way to tell is look at the image on ngc or pcgs and compare it with what’s in the slab. Usually the labels are just slightly off.

    The TPGs have added to their security over this throughout the years.
