yes or no on a ddo

    The key to a true double die is to find Split Serifs. That is, the corners have notching. I don't see that on any of your pictures.

    I think that the microscope is the issue here but what do I know.

    i think that the issue isn't the micro, but that is a proof with very mirrored and shiny surfaces. this creates reflective lines and hides details. the coin does have notches or steps in some locations which are somewhat faint. looking at the link posted earlier seems the same but i cant tell if it suffers from larger text. more than likely it isn't and leave it at that.
    i would note that photographing coins in slabs sux when getting to details this small.
    reflections of the make it difficult and impossible to get a proper angle for the shot.
