Seriously. There are beautiful toned coins, and then there is this kind of junk. I have ZERO idea how graders wade through these things and grade them with a straight face.
lol............I "might" would pay melt for that. I'm just pointing out how silly the toned coin craze is. No way, no how do I think that's attractive.
A reasonable person would conclude the same. Yet I see garbage like this constantly and consistently graded like this. Note to self.... have a coin weakly struck that you hate? Tone it and send it in for grading.
I don’t believe that type of toning is part of the craze as you say. I love toners, but that type is not on my radar in any sense of the word.
The obverse is an abomination for a 64. Very little detail in the hair, the leaves and acorns look like VF at best. And what on earth is going on in Miss Liberty's cap?
I can't tell anything from these photos, and I'm not sure what toning has to do with it. Unless people think PCGS gave it 64 because they loved the toning? Where did you see this coin? Images look like scans to me and not photos.
