This is a cent that is really messed up.....I am just trying to do the detective thing and find out exactly what year it is....I took a picture with my microscope then put the picture through a photo program I have to get the light / colors better so I could see it....I think it looks like a 2002....Anyone see it different? Ohh...And by the way, this is why I tell ALL my coins not to go to the bar from sunup to sundown every day!!!...This is what happens to you if you do!!!
Yeah, your right rick, I bet it's not even worth a cent...It is incredibly hard to read anything on this coin....I just thought it may be fun trying to figure out what year it is....Maybe I was wrong....
The date clearly starts with a "2" and ends with a "2". This leaves only 2002 or 2012 as possibilities. Take a look at the reverse. If it has the Lincoln Memorial on the reverse then it must be 2002. Likewise, if it has a shield on the reverse, which began in 2010, then it must be 2012. For what it's worth, the third digit in the date looks like a zero so I'm going with 2002 as well.
