I just go by recent sales. My friend lets me know if I have any questions. The T numbers are the best to use.
@Aunduril Do you collect CSA Notes? If so, tell me a little about your collection. Do you live close to south central Pennsylvania?
Nope I live in Maine, though I was in Hersey PA a few days ago. I do not have any CSA notes as of yet but have always wanted to collect some, so I'm working in learning a more about them before jumping in.
Only 72 issues were printed. So much to know about them. About 1/3 are reasonable in price. Another third are available but costly and the last third is very difficult to obtain, not to mention the cost. I have about a third of them and I do have some very special ones.
Thank you for the info. I have noticed that certain bills are much more prevalent. I’ve been looking into them for probably a year plus now just keeping an eye on availability and price.
One of the most common notes is the Horses pulling Cannons. It’s dated 1864. Very common and not very expensive. Like all notes, it gets more expensive with the increase in condition. Still, it’s very affordable.
The Bank Note reporter has a price guide each issue I believe. Get a copy from someone coupled with recent sales is where I would begin.
Be Very very careful when dealing with confederate notes for every real one theres hundreds of fakes and reproductions.
