A laptop in a kayak? Only in Vermont. Fun Fact: Did you know that Vermont is the safest state in the Country?
Oh, I'm sorry. Vermont is 3rd. It's New Hampshire, Maine them Vermont...Safest States in the US 2025 You have to read the article.
My other hobby is scale modeling. Mostly aircraft. This is an RAF Curtiss Tomahawk IIb of 112 Squadron in Egypt during WWII. I work in 1/48 scale kits. This is not LEGO modeling. This is good old cut the plastic parts out and glue them together without permanently sticking your fingers together, then freehand airbrushing and pastel chalk weathering to finish. Started when I was old enough to use glue and just never outgrew the urge to build. I made the desert display base as well. Rick L.
Looks really nice. I was mostly into cars. I have a Ford GT that I keep meaning to build, maybe this winter. The pieces are so small though. I forget the scale. The engine is the hardest to do. Sometimes i just can't fit a piece in the engine. So, I leave it out, . The decals are terrible also.
This is the kit. Still Available. 2006 Ford GT. 1/25 scale. Says snap together. Yeah, right. Snap my you know what together! LOL.
@Fullbands . Very cool & well done. Remember those projects quite well. In fact, I think I just recently (and finally) got all the glue off my fingers from 50 years ago. James
Oh man! And you do it very very well!! I was a major model plane enthusiast as a lad. I often think that if I should ever get to retire and have some free time in my life that I would like to reignite that old passion.
I've posted these before, but they are "something different". A Gold Nugget from the California Gold Rush. This was found in a safe on the SS Central America. Several nuggets were in a leather pouch inside the safe. This is one of them. Now a little different "something". This is a Lead Roman Sling "Bullet". It's about .75" wide and 1.25" long. It's quite heavy. I would think, if you got hit with it, that it would "ruin your day"!
