We have a $100 Hong Kong Shanghai Series 1921 note which is nominally repaired and in absolutely horrendous shape as you can see. I found online somewhere that these are very rare notes. Is it still worth getting professionally graded despite being in almost the worse state possible? If I submitted it to PMG services, which pricing level should I choose? Is this a really valuable note? Thanks to all who post for their expertise on this matter .
Yes, in better condition its an expensive banknote. Try to get an estimate for a restoration. There are paper specialist who can remove the white tape on the reverse and repair the note to become one again. after restoration you can send it to PMG , it will get an apparent grade like Very Good - repairs Heres a pic of your note in better days.
